After learning that Costa Rica did not have an army, Rita Marie Johnson moved from the United States to Costa Rica over 17 years ago to help strengthen its peace model. Now she serves as director of the Rasur Foundation, which she founded in 1998.

Julie Vosoba
Program Director
Julie was moved to join RFI, after seeing first-hand the transformative power of BePeace as a facilitator during a BePeace Foundations Course. Most recently Julie was Executive Director of the Giraffe Heroes Project, an international non-profit promoting social and emotional learning in schools. She has extensive experience with nonprofit organizations and fundraising.

Candace Gotcher
Administrator
Candace comes to us with over 30 years of office experience, including over 10 years in managing offices and retail locations. Her knowledge of accounting and managerial skills will benefit RFI tremendously. Candace holds the position of the vice-chair on a non-profit board, which she has been serving for the past 3 years. She has been studying Nonviolent Communication for several years and is now in her 2nd year of NVC Intensive Mediation Training. She has continued growing in her ability to embody peace through workshops, triad and dyad practices, and has assisted with other groups and trainings over the past 3 years.
Candace said, “I am excited to be working with RFI, a non-profit organization that is striving to embody peace as we offer BePeace in the world. Embodying peace in the workplace creates an environment where you can be heard, held with compassion and understanding, and find ways to get everyone’s needs met.”
